Hamilton clawed back a tenth in Sector 3 — the high-speed final sector where the Ferrari has always been stronger — but it was pocket change. You can't give away 0.63s in five corners and make it back with tidy exits onto straights.

This wasn't a strategic battle. Hamilton was on the same tyre as Norris and both ran the full 19 laps to the flag. No pit stops, no safety cars to bunch them up, just raw pace. And the Ferrari didn't have it where it mattered.

The degradation numbers tell you everything: Norris was actually getting faster as the sprint wore on (negative degradation), while Hamilton was bleeding four-hundredths per lap. The McLaren was the better car in the heat, and Hamilton was driving the wheels off something that was fundamentally slower.

Here's what Ferrari needs to fix before Montreal: that Sector 1 deficit isn't a setup problem, it's a car problem. The SF-26 has been brilliant on power circuits and hopeless in tight, technical sections all season. Miami exposed it again.

Canada has a completely different layout — fewer chicanes, longer straights, one genuinely high-speed sector. If Ferrari shows up with the same car and the same Sector 1 weakness, Hamilton's going to have the same result. Norris will be gone before they reach the hairpin.
