Lewis Hamilton Beat Nobody, Lost to No One, and Proved Nothing

Hamilton ran his own race in Miami while Norris won up front — and the gap between them says absolutely nothing about either driver.

Lewis Hamilton was six tenths slower than Lando Norris in Sector 1. He finished 22 seconds behind. And none of it matters, because they were never in the same race.

Norris started on pole. Hamilton started P7. They stayed exactly where they began for nineteen laps, and the only thing we learned is that starting position is destiny in a nineteen-lap sprint.

Key Finding
Hamilton was half a second slower than Norris, finished 22 seconds behind, and somehow we learned nothing.
