Here's what actually happened in Miami: Hadjar drove a mistake-free sprint in brutal heat, managed his tyres better than most of the grid, and held position against drivers with far more experience. He didn't beat Verstappen. He also didn't need to. The rookie extracted everything from ninth place that ninth place had to give.
