Colapinto was three track-limits violations away from a clean session. Antonelli was half a second faster every time they crossed the line.

More than half of that gap — 0.504s — came in Sector 1. The rest of the lap was close. Sector 2: two and a half tenths. Sector 3: two tenths. Antonelli was faster everywhere, but Sector 1 is where he won qualifying.

Colapinto had other problems. He ran wide at Turn 15 three times — twice in Q1, once in Q3. One of those deleted laps might have put him into the 1:28s. It wouldn't have mattered.

Antonelli had one lap deleted for track limits at Turn 5. He still found pole by over nine tenths. That Sector 1 advantage was structural, not circumstantial.

Miami rewards front-end stability through the low-speed chicanes. Antonelli had it. Colapinto didn't.

Canada has three slow corners in the first sector. If the gap looks similar there, this isn't a circuit problem.
