Sector 2 at Spa is Les Combes through Pouhon — the technical heart of the circuit. High-speed direction changes, mechanical grip under braking, and aero balance through the fast sweepers. McLaren was untouchable there. Russell lost 0.9 seconds in that one sector. He clawed back a tenth in S1 and another in S3, but the damage was done.
This wasn't a driver error. This was a car problem. The Mercedes couldn't rotate through Les Combes and didn't have the stability through Pouhon. Norris was carrying more speed mid-corner, getting on the power earlier, and making it look effortless. Russell's fastest lap came on Lap 11 — he found his limit and stayed there. Norris kept improving.
