The medium tyre was 0.66 seconds slower per lap through Sector 2 than the hard. Not over a stint. Not after degradation. Per lap, from the green flag. The castle section—turns 8 through 15, the narrow technical gauntlet where you need front-end stability and confidence—ate the medium compound alive. Lawson was losing over half a second every single lap in eight corners, and there was nothing he could do about it.
