Charles Leclerc was faster through every sector. He finished four places behind Oscar Piastri. We've been here before, and it never ends well.
Charles Leclerc was faster than Oscar Piastri through Sector 1. Faster through Sector 2. Four-tenths faster through the final sector — an eternity at this circuit. Piastri won the sprint. Leclerc finished fifth, exactly where he started.
This is the worst kind of race result to analyse, because there's nothing wrong with what happened on track. Ferrari didn't make a strategy error. Leclerc didn't make a mistake. He was just in the wrong place when the lights went out, and in a nineteen-lap sprint with no pit stops, starting position is destiny.
